We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support procurement activities for stainless steel materials, fabrication components, and operational supplies. This role assists in vendor coordination, purchase order processing, and inventory support to ensure timely material availability for production.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Support

Prepare and process purchase orders for raw materials and shop supplies

Verify pricing, quantities, and delivery timelines

Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation

Vendor Coordination

Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, lead times, and pricing

Follow up on pending shipments

Assist in resolving discrepancies in invoices or deliveries

Inventory & Production Support

Coordinate with production to confirm material requirements

Track material usage and support reorder planning

Assist in maintaining minimum stock levels

Documentation & Reporting

Update procurement logs and vendor files

Support cost tracking and purchasing reports

Ensure compliance with internal purchasing procedures
 

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of purchasing, procurement, or administrative experience

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and email communication

  • Basic understanding of inventory processes

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
